 Tom joined the firm in November 2006 and, with David Maunsell, manages our construction and litigation team. Tom brings to the firm over 10 years post admission experience, the majority involving building and construction law.
Tom began his legal career as Associate to Judge Phillip Nase in Rockhampton and then Associate to Judge John Robertson in Ipswich. Following his admission, Tom worked at a number of well known firms in Ipswich and Brisbane before accepting an in–house role with the Housing Industry Association (HIA) as Assistant Director - Legal and Contracts. In this role Tom was responsible for overseeing the development of HIA’s building contracts throughout Australia as well as coordinating the provision of practical advice on construction law and dispute resolution to HIA members. Tom was with the HIA for over 2 years before making the move to his current role with Maunsell Pennington.

Tom has two small children who keep him pretty busy outside of work hours. If he does get some spare time he heads off for a game of golf (usually only 9 holes!) at Brisbane Golf Club.
Tom’s main areas of practice include building and construction law and commercial litigation.
Tom was appointed a Partner of Maunsell Pennington on 1 July 2008.
